SIX SIGMA BLACK BELT CERTIFICATION TRAINING: OVERVIEW

The six sigma black belt certification course combines the two proven methodologies of Lean and Six Sigma to improve processes, deliver savings and drive continuous improvement in any business using the DMAIC cycle.

Lean provides a framework to improve business metrics by reducing or eliminating waste. Six Sigma provides a data-driven structure to reduce process variation.

The Certified Six Sigma Black Belt (CSSBB) is a professional who can explain Six Sigma philosophies and principles, including supporting systems and tools. A Black Belt should demonstrate team leadership, understand team dynamics, and assign team member roles and responsibilities. Black Belts professional have a thorough understanding of all aspects of the DMAIC model following Six Sigma principles. They have basic knowledge of lean enterprise concepts, can identify non-value-added elements and activities, and can use specific tools.

Evolution of quality, principles of total quality management, quality gurus and their contribution to quality, continuous improvement, value and foundation of six sigma, leadership, six sigma roles and responsibilities, team management, management and planning tools.

Define Phase

Stakeholders identification and management, critical to X requirements, business performance measures, voice of customers and customers satisfaction level, market research, quality function deployment, critical to quality flow down, performance metrics, project charter and charter negotiation, project management plan, project tracking

Measure Phase

Processes, process characteristics, process flow metrics, process flow, inputs and outputs, process flow maps, SIPOC, Data type and measurement scales, data collection, sampling strategies, Fishbone diagram, relational matrix/prioritization matrix, basic statistics, analytical statistics, gauge r & r, process capability analysis

Analyse Phase

Correlation and Regression Analysis, hypothesis testing, failure mode and effect analysis, gap analysis, the five whys, Pareto charts, tree diagrams, non-value-added activities (NVA), cost of quality

Improve Phase

Pre-requisites and Certification

There is no formal prerequisite for this certification but having a Six Sigma Yellow Belt certification is an advantage.

At the end of the course, participants will:

Receive a SCILS Management Centre issued a certificate of Proficiency in Business Process Improvement using Lean Six Sigma Black Belt
Be eligible to take, sit for and pass the 6SigmaStudy SSBB® Certification Exam.

2. It consists of 125 multiple choice questions and must be completed within 2.5 hours
